Lead Safety Tips

Avoid

Lead law for children's jewelry now in effect through the csps.gov.

Little jewels restringing program

Gold or silver are both metals that will not alloy (bond) with lead. So the production of 14 KT gold or .925 sterling mixed with this dangerous metal is scientifically impossible.

The CSPS's new chairperson has entered a memorandum into the federal register which  finally concludes that gold over 10 karat, sterling silver, and certain natural materials including diamonds and pearls are within the new compliance guidelines of being under 100 ppm. of lead. In this complaince level no testing is required to prove these items are unsafe for kids.

We are happy that we have presented only plumb gold and sterling silver to the children's marketplace and will continue to sell items that are safe for consumers both young and old.

We string as your child grows. Simply send your pearl bracelet back with the new length required. We will restring, add pearls, clean and polish your piece and return it to you within 10 days. This cost is $10 including freight.

Another tip: Plastics

Avoid any plastics in jewelry components because there is a chance the child could be exposed to melamine poisoning as the Chinese experienced with a baby formula scandal. They may also be choking hazards. None of our pearls is larger than a pea.
